This extra duty assignment supports the school's video production and livestream program, with a primary emphasis on athletic event broadcasting. The selected individual will foster a strong learning environment for students, use a variety of instructional strategies, and work collaboratively with staff to meet departmental and school goals.
Qualifications- Demonstrates effective instructional and coaching strategies that support student learning and engagement
- Builds and maintains a positive, student-centered learning environment
- Works effectively as part of a collaborative team to achieve program and school objectives
- Shows strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Lead and manage livestream productions, primarily for athletic events
- Coordinate broadcast schedules and clearly communicate expectations with students and administrators
- Train and prepare student crew members prior to each event
- Ensure priority coverage for major events, including:
- Senior Night
- Court warming
- Conference and district competitions
- Other significant school events
- Director
To maintain broadcast quality and professionalism, each livestream should include a trained crew, typically:
- 1 Director
If a fully trained crew is not available, events may need to be modified or canceled to ensure safety and quality standards are maintained.
- Supervise setup, operation, and teardown of all livestream equipment
- Maintain, organize, and inventory production equipment, including:
- Cameras and tripods
- Audio systems
- Computers and streaming hardware
- Cables and accessories
- Troubleshoot routine technical issues during events
- Coordinate with IT staff, maintenance, or vendors for larger technical needs, such as permanent cabling, rewiring, or advanced repairs
- Provide media support to athletic teams and school organizations when feasible (graphics, promotional videos, highlight content, etc.)
- Prioritize workload in the following order:
- Student learning and classroom needs
- Scheduled livestream events
- Additional media requests
- Large or urgent projects must be planned in advance with clear timelines to avoid last-minute strain on students or staff
- Additional sponsor or assistant support is encouraged to strengthen program continuity and sustainability
This role requires work beyond the regular school day, including frequent evening events during athletic seasons. The number of events may vary based on the season and availability of trained student crew members.
