Compensation: Targeting approximately $70,000–$100,000 base salary, flexible based on experience and schedule
About the RoleOur Client, a privately held Permian Basin oil and gas operator, is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Land Technician / Land Administrator to support its Land team. This role focuses on land records, lease administration, and internal tracking to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems.
This position does not require deep prior oil and gas land experience. The Client is open to candidates from a variety of professional backgrounds who are highly organized, reliable, and willing to learn. The ideal candidate takes pride in doing accurate work, follows established processes, and can be counted on to keep land documentation organized and up to date.
Key ResponsibilitiesLand Records and Lease Administration
- Receive, organize, and process land documents including leases, amendments, assignments, and related correspondence
- Ensure documents are properly scanned, filed, and tracked
- Coordinate document recording as needed and maintain organized land records
Data Entry, Tracking, and Reconciliation
- Maintain land data and lease schedules in Quorum (Land module) and supporting internal files
- Track key lease dates and obligations
- Reconcile land records across internal systems to ensure accuracy and consistency
Operational Support
- Assist with land-related operational support, including documentation for well proposals and other projects
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Land team and assist with special projects as needed
Required
- Strong reliability, follow-through, and work ethic
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Professional communication skills and ability to handle confidential information
Experience
- Prior oil and gas land experience is helpful but not required
- Strong administrative, legal, or operations support experience from other industries will be considered
- Training will be provided on systems and internal processes
Preferred
- Familiarity with Quorum Land or similar land systems
- Basic understanding of land documents such as leases, title opinions, and contracts
- Stable, privately held operator with a collaborative, low-bureaucracy culture
