Job Description & How to Apply Below

Ace Resources is seeking a detail-oriented Records Clerk to support a high-volume file organization and digitization project for one of our clients in the oil and gas industry. Following a recent acquisition, the company is consolidating approximately 13,000 physical well files. Contractors will work from a climate-controlled offsite storage facility in Midland, organizing documents, entering metadata into a proprietary system, and preparing files for off‑site scanning by a third party.

This is a repetitive but essential role requiring accuracy, consistency, and the ability to work independently. The team environment is casual, collaborative, and flexible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and classify physical well files in accordance with a defined internal structure
  • Accurately input metadata into a proprietary records management tool (Excel‑like)
  • Prepare files for off‑site scanning by a third party (no scanning duties required)
  • Lift and transport banker‑style storage boxes (typically 30–35 lbs)
  • Support weekly file processing targets (~30 files/week, depending on complexity)
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and thrives in a structured, task‑driven environment. Experience in records management, document control, or filing systems is required. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures consistently are essential. Candidates must be comfortable working in a warehouse‑style setting and handling physical files and boxes. Oil and gas familiarity is a plus but not required.

Compensation

and Terms
  • Contract Length: ~6 months with potential to extend depending on performance and project needs
  • Start Date:

As soon as possible (2‑week notice acceptable)
Schedule
  • Mon–Thurs: 9‑hour days (flexible start/end); must be on‑site during core hours of 9 AM–3 PM (some start as early as 6:30 AM)
  • Friday:
Half‑day; must work between 7:30–11:30 AM or 8:00–12:00 PM
Additional Information
  • Casual dress permitted; work is performed in a climate‑controlled storage facility
  • Air Pods and personal music devices allowed, provided productivity is maintained
  • On‑site amenities include air conditioning, a refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig
About the Client

Our client is a publicly traded, Permian Basin‑focused oil and gas producer known for its disciplined operations and strong regional presence. The company operates out of a downtown Midland headquarters and has a longstanding reputation for excellence in upstream exploration and production. This Records Clerk role supports their internal Records & Information Management (RIM) team, which plays a critical role in operational readiness, data compliance, and digital transformation initiatives.
