Accountant, Accounting Manager, Accounting & Finance

Description We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team in Midland, Texas, on a Contract to permanent employment basis.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a manufacturing environment while working in a close-knit, office-based culture. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of accounting expertise and adaptability, with a focus on managing day-to-day financial processes and ensuring compliance with tax and payroll requirements.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

- Manage general ledger entries and perform bank reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.

- Prepare and submit franchise and state tax reports, ensuring compliance with regulations.

- Coordinate payroll processes, including entering and submitting payroll data to the payroll service.

- Handle insurance renewals and maintain accurate records for ongoing compliance.

- Assist with month-end close procedures, collaborating with external partners as needed.

- Conduct cost accounting and analysis to support manufacturing operations.

- Utilize accounting software such as Quantum or Peachtree to manage financial data effectively.

- Provide support during the transition to new accounting systems, ensuring seamless integration.

- Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail in a busy office environment. Requirements - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred but not required.

- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.

- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes.

- Familiarity with tax reporting and payroll functions, including multi-state payroll.

- Experience with accounting software such as Quantum or Peachtree.

- Ability to perform cost accounting and analysis with attention to detail.

- Excellent organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
