We are currently partnering with a valued client in Midland, Texas, to identify a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant
. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing organization within the oil and gas field services industry. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting expertise, a proactive mindset, and the ability to support both financial operations and HR-related functions.
- Prepare and maintain accurate journal entries and perform account reconciliations to ensure financial records remain current and reliable.
- Manage general ledger activities, including tracking transactions and supporting financial reporting processes.
- Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis, including creating pivot tables and applying formulas such as VLOOKUP.
- Support HR functions by administering employee benefits, assisting with onboarding, and maintaining confidential personnel records.
- Provide clear guidance to employees on health insurance topics, including deductibles, copays, PPOs, and out-of-pocket maximums, and address related questions.
- Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for process improvements across accounting and administrative functions.
- Adapt to evolving workflows and systems to support company growth.
- Communicate workload challenges effectively and seek support when needed.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, organization, and confidentiality in all responsibilities.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, office administration, or a related role; experience with HR and payroll functions is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data filtering.
- Familiarity with health insurance concepts and the ability to explain benefits clearly to employees.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Proven ability to adapt quickly, take initiative, and perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to work onsite in Midland, Texas, with occasional overtime as needed.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all tasks.
