The OpportunityWe are hiring a Staff Accountant to become the core accounting owner for a growing real estate and development platform.
This is a high-impact role with direct access to leadership. You will bring structure, discipline, and clarity to the accounting function and play a key role in helping the business scale.
While real estate accounting experience is strongly preferred, we are open to training the real estate-specific pieces (capitalization, soft vs. hard costs, lender packets, draw processes) for the right candidate with a strong accounting foundation.
Key Responsibilities- Own day-to-day accounting across multiple entities (LLCs, operating companies, projects)
- Manage month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting timelines
- Oversee AP/AR workflows and ensure accurate coding and documentation
- Maintain clean general ledger activity and supporting schedules
- Prepare financial statements and reporting packages for leadership
- Support development and project accounting (job cost tracking, budget vs. actual reporting)
- Assist with construction-related reporting, draw support, and lender/bank packets as needed
- Improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting cadence as the company grows
Required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (flexible for the right person)
- Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset
- Well-rounded accounting background (not AP-only or AR-only)
- Strong Excel skills and comfort with accounting systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong communication and ability to work directly with leadership
- Real estate accounting experience (commercial, multifamily, storage, development, etc.)
- Construction accounting or job cost experience
- Experience working in a family office, small business, or multi-entity environment
- Familiarity with lender reporting, bank packets, or draw processes
- High ownership — you won’t be siloed
- High visibility — direct partnership with CFO and principals
- Growth environment — build systems and processes as the business scales
