Summary

This position is primarily responsible for ensuring that direct ship supplies and inventory supplies are distributed in a timely manner throughout the Health System. This involves managing the supply flow of the storeroom inventory items by receiving stock from vendors, restocking the shelves, picking orders, delivering supplies, and maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly environment.

Responsibilities
  • 50% Support the work of material handlers, order fulfillment and receiving personnel with stocking, organizing receipts, and cycle counts as required and directed by the manager.
  • 30% Complete supply requisition by removing from inventory those items requested, packaging the order, staging for delivery.
  • 20% Maintain a neat, clean and orderly storeroom, receiving area, and outside dock area. Ensures proper rotation of stock.
  • OTHER

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Maintain equipment as required, such as charging the electric pallet jack.
  • Distribute/deliver stock and non-stock orders throughout the Medical Center, and MOB’s including driving My Michigan vehicle and being able to be insured through My Michigan.
  • Checks in/receives stock and items within the Materials Information System, replaces Supply Clerk II occasionally in relief.
  • Assists Riecker Surgery Center transportations daily.
  • In the performance of the regular job duties, it is appropriate for this position to have access to the medication room and supply room for the purpose of stocking.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    SKILLS:

  • Ability to lift/handle heavy objects, to stay on feet for long periods of time and to handle physical labor for long periods of time required.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training must also be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as trauma, grief and death.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.
  • Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
  • Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).
  • Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.
  • Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow My Michigan Health blood borne pathogen and TB testing as required.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.
  • Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
  • Physical Demand Level: Medium. Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry 21-50 lbs., frequently 34-66% of the workday 20 lbs. and or Walk/Stand/Push/Pull of Arm/Leg controls and constantly (67-100% or the workday) 10 lbs.
