Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to Med Surg patients with confidence and professionalism

Assess patients regularly and develop individualized care plans that promote recovery

Administer medications and treatments safely, following facility protocols and best practices

Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to coordinate effective treatment

Monitor patient status, promptly report changes, and respond to urgent needs

Educate patients and families on diagnosis, care plans, medications, and discharge instructions

Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record

Champion patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives on the unit

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan (required)

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required;
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred

Clinical experience or training in medical-surgical nursing preferred

Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Ability to manage multiple patients while delivering compassionate care

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and patient care standards

Proficiency with electronic health records and documentation best practices

Medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care skills

Patient education and discharge planning

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Time management, organization, and clinical decision-making
