Description:
This position performs a variety of integrated pre- and post-operative critical care functions.
The nurse utilizes the nursing process while applying broad nursing knowledge.
Care is delivered in a caring and concerned manner.
Responsibilities include assessing patients for physical, emotional, psychosocial, and family support.
The nurse organizes and coordinates all aspects of patient care according to the patient's real and/or perceived needs.
Evaluation of patient progress is done by correlating patient information with nursing knowledge.
The nurse determines if goals are being met according to the patient's plan of care or clinical path.
Consultation and collaboration with members of the healthcare team are essential in planning and implementing total patient care for individuals.
Three weekend shifts are required per 4-week scheduling period (Friday and Saturday).
