- Disassembly of molds, cleaning of mold components and reassembly of molds with some direction from tool maker.
- Simple machining (as individual capabilities allow).
- Cleaning and straightening of mold vault. Cleaning and changing of washer unit and coolant tanks. Perform preventative maintenance of molding rooms.
- Perform pin changes and complex conversions in multi-cavity tooling, in the press and in the tool room.
- Participate in a machine maintenance program. Do general housekeeping.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting of hot runners and hot runner controllers.
- Hydraulic cylinder maintenance and repair.
- Ability to be trained, attend off-site classes and complete all requirements to become a Tool and Die Maker.
- CNC and manual machine operations.
- Master CAM and programming of tool paths.
- Caliper, indicator, micrometer, bore gauges, and measurement taking.
- Mechanical ability as demonstrated by a test.
- Math skills as demonstrated by a test.
- Physical ability to perform activities in a toolroom.
- 12th grade education and basic knowledge of multimeter.
- Prior experience in a tooling or manufacturing atmosphere.
