Summary- (20%) Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures utilizing accurate application of ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.
- (20%) Positions patient and equipment appropriately to accurately demonstrate the area being examined, requiring extensive anatomic positioning skills.
- (20%) Provides appropriate radiation protection for patient and staff during radiation exposures according to prescribed safety standards.
- (20%) Adjusts technical factors to provide appropriate exposure by use of independent judgment, knowledge of human anatomy, effect of disease on the radiograph and principles of radiation as well as the specific operation of all radiologic equipment within the department.
- (20%) Ensures appropriate staffing and equipment are available for all OR cases. Gives clear, direct instructions to the Radiology staff to utilize resources effectively within the operating room and outpatient services.
- Assists radiologist as needed in performance of sterile procedures (e.g., biopsies, myelograms).
- Can operate all equipment within the OR and confidently train new staff.
- Performs surgical and portable radiographic procedures as assigned.
- Performs QC on all radiology equipment within the OR; troubleshoots unexpected issues.
- Performs nursing procedures, including preparation and administration of radiologic contrast media, medications and catheterizations.
- Handles day‑to‑day conflicts with OR rooms, equipment, staffing, physicians and the OR coordinator; optimizes radiology resources and improves efficiency among departments.
- Has knowledge to readily identify and treat allergic reactions to contrast media.
- Practices sterile technique and maintains professional acumen through active association with professional organizations.
- Shows evidence of continuing education in radiography as necessary to remain current.
- Attends in‑service educational programmes and departmental meetings.
- Initiates requisitions, adds or modifies charges, acknowledges exams, requiring use of the computer.
- Recognises and reports malfunction of radiographic equipment appropriately.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

- ARRT – Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)(R) within one year of hire or transfer date.
- BLS – Basic Life Support within one month of hire or transfer.
Associate Degree.
Experience, Training and Skills- One (1) year clinical experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Radiology Information System (RIS) and HIS preferred.
Exposure to stressful situations, including public contact, trauma, grief and death.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including latex materials or appropriate substitutes.
Ability to move freely about the facility, with or without assistance.
Overall vision and hearing necessary with or without assistance.
Frequent required activities: sit/stand/walk for long periods; stooping, kneeling or crouching; handle multiple tasks independently; maintain regular and predictable attendance; stay awake.
Physical demand level:
Light; occasional lift or carry 11‑20 lbs.; frequent lift 10 lbs.; walk/stand/push/pull tasks.
