Registered Nurse; RN - Cath Lab

This job involves taking care of patients before, during, and after certain heart procedures, including angiography, interventional procedures, and other tests.

The work includes preparing patients, giving them medicine before the procedure, keeping records during the procedure, providing care after the procedure, and teaching patients about their care. The nurse will wear scrubs and work with other team members in the heart lab.

• Provide nursing care for patients undergoing heart tests and procedures. This includes helping with stress tests, echocardiograms, and other heart tests. The nurse ensures patients are safe before tests, monitors sedation, applies heart monitors, checks blood pressure, and works with devices like pacemakers. Other tasks may be assigned by the manager.
• Operate medical equipment and manage supplies used during heart procedures. This includes devices for heart measurements, emergency equipment, and other nursing supplies.
• Assist doctors during procedures by scrubbing in to help.
• Write down important information about patients on the right forms. Help create and improve educational materials for patients about heart health.

• Must have experience as a Cath Lab RN.
• Must have BLS and ACLS certifications (from AHA).
• Experience in Interventional Radiology is preferred.
• At least one year of experience in Electrophysiology is preferred.
• Knowledge of heart rhythms is preferred.
• Experience with intra-aortic balloon pumps is preferred.
• Travel experience is preferred.
• Experience with Epic software is preferred.
