Overview
SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Machinist for our Electronic Warfare division at our Middletown, RI headquarters. The Machinist will interpret written instructions and specifications and engineering drawings; plan and lay out work; use a variety of machinist’s tools and precision measuring instruments; set up and operate standard machine tools; shape metal parts to close tolerances; perform standard shop computations related to dimensions, tooling, feeds, and speeds, and select materials and components required for this work.
The role involves fitting and assembling parts into mechanical equipment.
- Produce replacement parts and new parts.
- Set up and run manual milling machines and engine lathes.
- Perform basic 3-axis computer numerical controlled milling using conversational controllers.
- Read and interpret blueprints and hand sketches.
- Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Inspect parts dimensionally with tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Education:
High school diploma/GED required. - Experience:
2 years of relevant experience required. - As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship.

The position may involve standing and walking for extended periods, use of machine tools and PPE, frequent handwork, lifting up to 40 lbs with occasional lifting over 40 lbs. Daily use of computers and viewing of screens. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with variable noise levels based on machinery operation, welding or painting equipment. PPE required include safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses;
respirator or welding helmet may be required based on tasks.
