Position Overview
Shift: Nights 7:00pm-7:30am (Part time – 48 hours per pay period)
The Step‑down Unit is a 16‑bed inpatient nursing care unit that serves a variety of telemetry‑monitored patients. It specializes in the treatment of a multitude of conditions and diagnoses including chest pain, MI, CHF, cardiac arrhythmias, post‑procedure (PCI, ICD, permanent pacemakers), trauma, stable DKA, and stroke/TIA.
Role DescriptionThe Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse (RN) who partners with and advocates for patients, families, and significant others to provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support that impacts patient outcomes in a safe environment. The RN functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence and autonomy in nursing practice. The RN utilizes the nursing process in conjunction with evidence‑based principles to care for a diverse caseload of patients within the department scope of service.
The RN serves as guide, healer, collaborator, teacher, leader, and sentry. The RN collaborates with and guides care delivered by the inter‑professional team. The RN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, Nursing Code of Ethics, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Associate degree in Nursing (minimum)
- Valid Ohio RN license
- No prior job‑related work experience required
- Must be able to multitask with constant interruptions while maintaining a pleasant demeanor
- Basic computer knowledge
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organization skills
