Responsibilities- Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
- Registers sales on assigned cash register, provides customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
- Assists the pharmacist under direct supervision with pharmacy practice, entering patient and drug information and processing prescriptions using pharmacy systems.
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with team members, including greeting, eye contact, courtesy, proactive help, need identification, and full satisfaction.
- Recommends items for sale, trade‑up and companion items to customers.
- Registers customer purchases, collects cash, distributes change, processes voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges.
- Takes customers to OTC aisle to assist in locating products.
- Maintains counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, takes inventory, and maintains records; checks in and prices merchandise as directed.
- Performs duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicine, checking for interactions, and supporting scheduling and workflow.
- Reports prescription errors immediately to pharmacist in accordance with Company policies and the Quality Improvement Program, and reviews the Walgreens Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
- Adheres to Walgreens policy on Good Faith Dispensing during prescription dispensing activities.
- Handles telephone calls not requiring personal pharmacist attention, including physician calls.
- Processes manual claims for third‑party prescription services promptly and performs other clerical duties as assigned.
- Supports pharmacy inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, checking, storing shipment of pharmaceuticals, filing claims for overages, shortages, or damage.
- Ensures compliance with state and local laws for regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco.
- Constructs and maintains displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise; completes resets and revisions as directed.
- Assists in separating food items and product placement per policies, rotates consumable stock, and ensures first‑in, first‑out handling.
- Has working knowledge of store systems and store equipment.
- Provides customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo, poster print, and creative machine services.
- Assumes web pick‑up responsibilities, monitors orders, picks items, and delivers orders to customers.
- Assists with exterior and interior maintenance to keep store clean and orderly.
- Complies with all company policies and maintains respectful coworker relationships.
- Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
- Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state required certification/registration.
- Attends training, completes PPLs, and acquires continuing education credits, maintaining knowledge of healthcare and pharmacy developments.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
- Prefer strong math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing).
- Prefer good computer skills.
- Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
- Prefer PTCB certification.
