FIREFIGHTER-PARAMEDIC AND FIREFIGHTER-EMT | City of Middletown

To establish an Eligibility List for the classification of Firefighter-Paramedic and Firefighter-EMT, the City of Middletown will be accepting applications and will conduct an open competitive examination. The written examination will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

• High School Diploma or equivalent supplemented by courses in fire science technology or equivalent experience or training.
• Possession of a valid Ohio Driver’s License.
• Applicants must provide a copy of current Ohio Firefighter and EMT Certifications at time of application or provide proof of enrollment in a Firefighter and EMT program at time of application.
• Firefighter-Paramedic applicants must obtain their Ohio Firefighter and Paramedic State Certifications prior to their appointment.
• Recruitment and selection process to include written examination, interview, polygraph, medical exam, drug test, and physical ability test.

Firefighter-EMT $60,417;
Firefighter-Paramedic $69,142 annually with excellent benefits and additional certification pay.
