Our UPK program emphasizes school readiness, social-emotional growth, and a love of learning in a structured and supportive environment.
Position SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant UPK Teacher to support our Universal Pre-K classroom. The Assistant UPK Teacher works collaboratively with the Lead UPK Teacher to implement curriculum, maintain classroom routines, and ensure a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment that supports the developmental needs of four-year-old children.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Coursework in Early Childhood Education, CDA, or Associate’s Degree (preferred)
- Experience working with preschool or pre-kindergarten aged children required
- Ability to meet all state UPK, licensing, and TLE requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Support the Lead UPK Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and curriculum activities
- Assist with classroom management, transitions, and daily routines
- Help prepare materials and learning centers aligned with UPK standards
- Actively engage children in learning through play, discussion, and hands‑on activities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment
- Observe children’s behavior and development and communicate observations to the Lead Teacher
- Support positive behavior guidance and social‑emotional development
- Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations
- Communicate professionally with families and team members
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
- A patient, nurturing, and energetic educator
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
