Staff Accountant

Role Description

This is an on-site, full-time role for a Staff Accountant located in Metuchen, NJ. You will be responsible for managing financial statements, preparing financial reports, ensuring accurate accounting records, and providing analytical insights. Day-to-day tasks include overseeing financial operations, coordinating budget processes, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and managing a team of 5 individual contributors. The Financial Controller will play a key role in supporting strategic financial planning and maintaining the financial health of the company.

You will:

• Utilize Sage software to streamline accounting tasks and reporting.
• Compile financial information to perform routine accounting processes such as general ledger entries. Reconcile Balance Sheet and P&L accounts
• Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and perform analytical reviews of schedules and documents
• Manage month-end close activities to produce reliable financial statements.
• Maintain detailed records and reports to support organizational financial health.
• Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures.
• Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation and reports as required.
• Assist Controller with various accounting projects

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 5 years’ experience with general staff accounting
