Adjunct Instructor-Film Appreciation

The College seeks to build a pool of qualified applicants to teach CINE
105 Film Appreciation. CINE
105 provides students with a foundational understanding of film theory, history, and filmmaking techniques. This is a non-production, theoretical course. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in film studies, effective communication skills, commitment to student success, and the ability to foster an inclusive and interactive learning environment.

• Deliver engaging lectures that cover film history, theory, and analysis.
• Facilitate discussions to aid in understanding of course concepts.
• Assign and grade writing assignments and exams to assess student understanding.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback and support to help students succeed academically.
• Cultivate an inclusive classroom environment that values diverse perspectives and promotes respectful dialogue.

Education/

Experience:

• Master’s degree in Film Studies, Media Studies, Communication, or a related field.
• Prior teaching experience, especially at the college level, is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations:

• Strong need for daytime classes; limited evening sessions available. Morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend courses may be available in Lincroft, Western Monmouth, and Higher Education Centers.
• Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities.
