Veterinary Assistant - ER Outpatient - 1st shift
Veterinary Assistant needed for Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center in Middletown, CT to support Emergency & Critical Care care in a Level I facility. Full-time position with a schedule of Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 6 am‑4 pm, and holidays required.
Base Pay Range$17.00/hr – $20.00/hr

About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced veterinary assistant comfortable with handling/restraint, basic surgery prep, and assisting veterinary technicians and other staff. Familiarity with Ezy Vet and Smartflow is a plus. The role emphasizes teamwork, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Anticipated Schedule- Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat 6:00‑4:00 am‑pm

$17.00–$20.50 per hour, depending on experience and education.

- Prior experience in a veterinary setting, ideally in an ER.
- Experience handling animals and performing basic care tasks.
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi‑task and remain organized in fast‑paced environment.

- Basic knowledge of animal behavior and medical terminology.
- Work well under pressure.
