Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with required EPIC experience and weekend shifts.
Responsibilities- Position is in an acute care hospital setting on a Med/Surg Tele unit
- Care for a general medical patient population with 26 beds
- Nurse to patient ratios are 1:3-4 during the day and 1:7-8 at night
- Requires every other weekend and every other holiday coverage
- Night shifts are 12 hours, typically 7:00pm to 7:30am
- EMR used is Epic and prior experience is required
- Nurses perform all respiratory treatments and may work with CPAP HS only
- Charge nurse and nurse aide support provided during shifts
- Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts
- Nurses must be available to work all weekend shifts, including Sundays
- Minimal requested time off is permitted and none during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Orientation includes two unit-specific shifts
- Scrub color is Caribbean blue; black or white undershirts are allowed, pants may be black or Caribbean blue
- Hospitalist is available 24/7, and IV team and nurse resource support is provided
- Nurses are expected to attempt IVs before utilizing IV team support
- Lunch breaks are unpaid
- Blocked scheduling is not permitted
- Active CT or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA or ARC)
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Experience using Epic EMR is required
- Candidate must be willing to work 48-hour shifts if needed
- No local candidates within 50 miles will be considered
- First-time travelers will not be considered
