The Field Service Engineer performs testing, troubleshooting, analysis and repair of low, medium, and high voltage electrical power distributionequipmentandsystems. Equipmentincludesprotectiverelays, circuit breakers, switch gear, power transformers, generatorsandmore. Thispositionisbased at our Middletown, CT engineering office, but much work will occur at customer sites.

- Performprotectiverelaytestingatcustomersites,bothindependentlyoraspartofateam
- Interfacewithemployeesandcustomersincoordinatingworkatcustomersites,executingthework,andresolvingproblemsastheyarise
- Utilize engineering skills and applicable codes and standards to implement electrical systems that are safe, dependable, and cost-effective
- Provide technical support and quality control for assigned projects
- Proficient in reading and accurately interpreting power system wiring diagrams, including DC elementary drawings
- Adhere to all electrical safety procedures
- Demonstrate a solid theoretical understanding of electricity and strong problem-solving skills
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers and peers
- Exhibit dependability, responsibility, good judgment, and organizational skills
- Provide strong customer service, time management, and follow-up skills
- Be available for flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and out-of-town work as needed
- Strong logistical and organizational, written and verbal communication skills are essential
- Working knowledge of electrical power distribution, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash hazards (NFPA
70E) - Ability to read electrical drawings; knowledge to interpret and analyze schematics a must. AutoCAD experience
- Knowledge of NETA acceptance and maintenance testing procedures
- Experience testing electro-mechanical and/or digital protective relays and a working knowledge of protective relaying applications
- Associates degree or relevant experience
- Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks
- NETA Level II or higher a plus
- Expected Travel is between 10% to 20%
