We are seeking an experienced Marine Hydraulic Technician to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of hydraulic systems on marine vessels, port equipment, and dredging machinery. This role is essential to ensuring the reliability and efficiency of hydraulic systems used in marine and offshore operations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, and actuators.
* Perform preventive maintenance on vessels, cranes, winches, and dredging equipment.
* Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild hydraulic components to manufacturer standards.
* Replace worn hoses, seals, and fittings.
Installation & Commissioning
* Install and test hydraulic systems on vessels and related equipment.
* Support system calibration, pressure testing, and commissioning activities.
Diagnostics & Compliance
* Interpret hydraulic schematics and technical drawings.
* Use diagnostic tools to identify leaks, pressure issues, and component failures.
* Ensure proper fluid management and maintain compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Documentation & Teamwork
* Maintain maintenance records and technical reports.
* Collaborate with engineers, crews, and maintenance teams to improve system performance.
Requirements
Education & Certification
* Qualification in Hydraulic, Marine, or Mechanical Engineering (Diploma, NVQ, Degree, or equivalent).
* Hydraulic certification is desirable.
Experience
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in hydraulic maintenance within marine, offshore, or heavy equipment environments.
* Hands-on experience with hydraulic power units, steering systems, deck machinery, or similar systems.
Skills
* Strong troubleshooting and schematic-reading ability.
* Experience with hydraulic tools and diagnostic equipment.
* Good problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
