We are recruiting on behalf of PD Ports, one of the UK’s leading port operators, for a newly created Hydraulic Technician role within their onshore marine engineering team.

The Role
This position is based at PD Ports’ brand-new, state-of-the-art marine facility and sits within a recently established dedicated Hydraulic Department, created to support and future-proof the marine fleet.
Working closely with the Hydraulic Engineer, the Hydraulic Technician will be involved across the full lifecycle of hydraulic systems, including:
Inspection, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic systems supporting the marine fleet
Contributing to projects from initial concept and CAD-based design, through to build
Assembly within a bespoke hydraulic clean room
Testing, commissioning, and installation onboard vessels
Supporting continuous improvement and reliability of critical marine systems
This is a genuinely hands-on role with strong technical variety and the opportunity to be involved in shaping how the new department develops.
About You
You’ll be passionate about hydraulic systems and marine engineering, with a practical mindset and an interest in working across design, build, and installation. Proven ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and carry out effective fault diagnosis
