Position: Construction Apprenticeships Team Leader (Further Education)
Apprenticeship Team Leader – Construction (Electrical or Plumbing Preferred)

Full Time | 37 Hours per Week | 30 Days Annual Leave + NEST Pension
Based in North Yorkshire

Are you an experienced construction professional ready to shape the next generation of skilled tradespeople?

We’re working with a well-established, forward-thinking college in North Yorkshire, recognised for its strong employer partnerships and commitment to high-quality apprenticeship delivery. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a motivated and organised Apprenticeship Assessor to support learners across Electrical or Plumbing standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting apprentices to achieve their full potential while building strong relationships with local employers.

The Role
As an Apprenticeship Assessor, you will:
 
Plan, conduct and participate in induction and initial assessment to identify realistic learning priorities
Develop Individual Learning Plans in liaison with employers, agreeing clear and achievable completion targets
Ensure employers fully understand their role and responsibilities within Apprenticeship programmes
Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, local employers and relevant agencies to support recruitment
Provide high-quality information, advice and guidance to learners and employers
Assess knowledge, skills and behaviours against Apprenticeship Standards
Maintain a minimum caseload of learners, supporting them through to successful End Point Assessment
Deliver and assess NVQs and ad hoc commercial training where required
Support the Business Development team to identify new opportunities with employers
Work collaboratively within the curriculum team to plan and deliver structured, high-quality learning programmes  What We’re Looking For

Essential:
 
Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant construction occupational area (Electrical or Plumbing preferred)
GCSE English and Maths grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
TAQA Level 3 (Assessor) or A1 Assessor qualification
Experience assessing knowledge, skills and behaviours within Apprenticeship Standards
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage your own caseload
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive, solutions-focused approach
Genuine empathy with young people and a passion for helping learners succeed  Desirable:
 
Teaching qualification
TAQA Level 4 (IQA), Award in Internal Verification or V1  What’s on Offer
