A welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Middlesbrough is seeking an energetic and skilled Music Teacher to join its expressive arts department. This role offers the opportunity to develop students’ musical understanding, performance skills and appreciation of diverse musical traditions.

The Music Teacher will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential for KS5), covering performance, composition and music theory. You will support ensembles, concerts and extra‑curricular music activities, helping to cultivate a vibrant musical culture within the school.

• Plan and deliver high-quality Music lessons aligned with curriculum expectations
• Teach practical and theoretical components, including performance and composition
• Prepare students for GCSE examinations and performances
• Lead or support choirs, bands and instrumental ensembles
• Organise concerts and showcase events
• Track pupil progress and provide targeted support to raise attainment
• Maintain instruments and resources in line with health and safety guidance

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching Music at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
• Strong practical musicianship and classroom leadership skills
• Ability to engage students of varying musical abilities
• Organised, proactive and committed to extra‑curricular involvement
• Strong safeguarding awareness
• Legal right to work in the UK
