Stokesley Surgery are looking for a part time administrator to join our team for 30 hours a week over 4 days.
The successful candidate will be part of a friendly supportive reception and administration team. They will be the first point of contact for our patient sand will be required to meet the standards of care and service we pride ourselves on.
Weare looking for someone who will be flexible and reliable and isself-motivated, to compliment our experienced and dedicated team.
Main duties of the jobProvide reception and administrative duties including;
- Reception services to patients and visitors
- Deal with general enquiries, explain procedures, make new and follow-up appointments.
- Ensure those patients without appointments but who need urgent consultations are booked into appropriate slots
- Receive and make telephone calls as required.
- Advise patients of relevant charges for private (non General Medical Services) services, accept payment and issue receipts
- Work safely in accordance with Practice Policy and Procedures
- Scanning and coding of patient letters
- Summarising medical records
- Typing letters and choose and book / referrals
- Taking prescription requests actioning requests and taking prescription queries to the clinical team
- Involvement in data collection, quality improvement and audit
- Involvement in team meetings
- Taking payments, creating invoices and remittance documents
- Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and temporary residents
- Ensure correspondence are dealt with in a correct and timely manner
- Ensure reception and waiting areas are kept neat and tidy
- Check and action task messages on a daily basis.
- Contribute to planning and delivery of new services and developments
- Comply with Data Protection and GDPR.
- Use of Systmone clinical system
- Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Partners or the Practice Manager.

We pride ourselves on providing excellent patient care to our 9450patients. We have a recently refurbished purpose built Health Centre based in Stokesley.

Practice Nurses, 3 HCAs, 3 pharmacists, Mental Health Practitioner and First Contact Physiotherapist and a superb group of highly committed and enthusiasticadministrative and reception staff.

Job responsibilitiesAs already described above. We are looking for someone to work the following days and hours:
Mon 8.30am - 4.15pm
Wed 7.45am - 3.45pm
Fri 7.45am - 4pm
Each day you will have a 1 hour unpaid lunch break.
Person Specification Experience- Experience of working with the General Public
- Experience of reception and admin work
- Experience of working within General Practice
- GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths
- Good standard of general education
- Clear, polite telephone manner
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Interpersonal skills
