Registered Nurse or LPN - Long Term Care - nights - Helen Porter Nursing Home

Overview

Full-time night position seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join a long-term care unit.

• Provide nursing care and support in accordance with established medical care plans based on biological, physiological, behavioral, and social sciences.
• Demonstrate competence as a nursing practitioner and ensure high-quality patient care.
• Read, write, and speak English; participate in ongoing patient assessment and clinical decision-making.

• Perform selected aspects of the nursing regimen under the direction of an RN.
• Provide compassionate, quality care while adhering to unit protocols and safety guidelines.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school for RN; current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont.
• Current LPN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont (for LPN role).
• BLS certification.

• Gerontological nursing experience and knowledge of supervision techniques preferred.
• Able to read, write, and speak the English language.

• RN: salary details listed for the Unit RN TBD in the unit salary section; sign-on bonus up to $10,000 for RNs with at least 1 year of experience, paid in two installments after initiation and after one year of satisfactory employment. Current University of Vermont Health Network employees excluded from bonus eligibility.
• LPN: salary range for Unit LPN is Min: $28.71, Max: $42.66 per hour; employment bonus up to $7,500, paid in installments after probation, after 1 year, and after 2 years. Current University of Vermont Health Network employees excluded from bonus eligibility.

• Otter Creek is a traditional Long-Term Care unit with residents who are cognitively intact but medically unable to live independently.
• Helen Porter Rehabilitation & Nursing provides skilled nursing care and assistance with daily living in a home-like environment, licensed in Vermont and certified by Medicare/Medicaid.
