** Porter Medical Center is hiring an Environmental Services Supervisor to join their team!
**
* Please note:
This position is scheduled for evenings.
* The Environmental Services Supervisor is responsible for overseeing housekeeping and laundry operations to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the facility. This role includes supervising staff, maintaining compliance with OSHA and infection control standards, and ensuring quality control in all environmental services activities.
** KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
*** Supervise daily housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation standards.
* Train and orient new employees on cleaning procedures, chemical safety, and equipment use.
* Monitor workflow and quality of cleaning through daily facility tours and checklists.
* Issue and track supplies, maintain accurate records, and report equipment repairs promptly.
* Provide in-service training and assist with performance evaluations and staff counseling.
** CORE COMPETENCIES**
* ** Leadership & Supervision** – Ability to guide, train, and motivate staff effectively.
* ** Safety & Compliance** – Knowledge of OSHA regulations, infection control, and chemical safety.
* ** Communication Skills** – Clear and professional interaction with staff, patients, and management.
* ** Problem-Solving & Decision-Making** – Ability to resolve issues, manage grievances, and maintain workflow efficiency.
* ** Attention to Detail & Quality Control** – Ensuring cleanliness standards and proper documentation.
** QUALIFICATIONS
* ** High graduate or GED.
* Knowledge of institutional housekeeping techniques with at least three years of experience, supervisory experience preferred.
* Knowledge of housekeeping equipment and cleaning supplies.
* Ability to maintain accurate record-keeping and documentation.
* CHEST certification
* Ability to maintain confidentially and good public relations.
* Demonstrates ability to provide clear expectations to department personnel.
* Displays professional appearance and attitude.
* Ability to work with management members.
