Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Middlebury, Vermont. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in managing and optimizing financial transactions related to accounts receivable. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in cash applications, commercial collections, and billing processes.

Responsibilities:

- Process and manage accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and efficiency.

- Handle cash applications, ensuring timely and precise allocation of funds.

- Oversee commercial collections by proactively following up on outstanding payments.

- Prepare and issue invoices, ensuring all billing functions comply with company policies.

- Reconcile cash activity and resolve discrepancies promptly.

- Maintain customer accounts, updating records and addressing inquiries as necessary.

- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounts receivable operations.

- Generate regular financial reports to support decision-making processes.

- Monitor and enforce payment terms to minimize overdue accounts.

- Assist in audits and compliance reviews related to accounts receivable. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts receivable or a related financial role.

- Strong knowledge of cash applications and invoicing procedures.

- Familiarity with commercial collections processes and practices.

- Proficiency in reconciling cash activity and resolving discrepancies.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Strong communication abilities for interacting with clients and internal teams.

- Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail.

- Proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools.
