Position Summary:

As a Sales Solutions Generalist you’ll provide each customer with the best experience by helping them find and purchase animals, supplies and services. You’ll discuss the needs of the guest and their pet(s) to provide current and future solutions, and connect them with a Specialist when appropriate. You’ll work the cash register and ensure that merchandise is stocked and priced, delivering an excellent guest experience.

You can excel by demonstrating a passion for animal welfare, health, and proper handling and by collaborating with the Pet Care Center team.

Responsibilities

• Provide a great experience by engaging with guests using your skills and training.
• Assist guests in selecting merchandise based on their needs.
• Demonstrate a high level of interest in the welfare, health, and proper handling of all animals.
• Process transactions to create a positive guest experience.
• Develop future business through understanding guests and their pets.
• Support the Pet Care Center in achieving sales goals.
• Ensure merchandise is stocked, priced, and displayed for a great presentation.
• Complete training programs to maintain expertise in the role.
• Adhere to operational guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Promote teamwork, inclusion, and collaboration.
• Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Evaluate guest inquiries and refer to the Leader on Duty when needed.

Basic Qualifications

Be able to work successfully within a team. Demonstrate a genuine interest in animals and their care. Possess good interpersonal and verbal communication skills for interactions with the public and store partners and leaders.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in sales, retail, or related field. Knowledge of pet nutrition and aptitude for sales techniques.

Work Environment

The majority of duties are indoors; some stocking, moving merchandise, and stock balancing may require moving outside the store. Requires bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs and pulling up to 2000 lbs with equipment. Follow safety precautions. Availability for shifts in evenings, weekends, some overnights and holidays is required.
