Job SummaryIn this role, you will be involved in the day-to-day manufacturing operations. The ideal individual for this role understands the importance of sanitation, record keeping, and workflow. This individual should be comfortable adapting techniques as necessary to respond to changes in product handling, production processes, cultivation, labeling and packaging. As a departmental technician, you will be expected to adhere company standards of operations, arrive on time, be professional, follow company policies, perform daily tasks efficiently, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
You will also be required to assist cultivation in growing/harvesting plants along with assistance in their day-to-day processes.
- Have a clear understanding of harvesting for fresh frozen, non-solvent concentrate production, cannabis cultivation and lab sanitation.
- Attention to detail – ability to monitor extraction production in processes, organize and maintain production logs and batch lot numbers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
- Safely operate non-solvent processing equipment (ice / water extractor, heat press, oven).
- Experience in a production-heavy lab setting a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions with precision.
- Ensure that production is performed by following standard operating procedures.
- Weigh and store finished products ensuring that all information is recorded.
- Ensure production and processes are compliant with all internal rules, and regulations.
- Manage daily production of non-solvent concentrate products using commercial machinery.
- Processing both fresh frozen and dry cured flower into concentrate through non-solvent processes.
- Maintain a clean and safe production facility in compliance with Company standards and state and county health department requirements for Massachusetts production facilities.
- Ensure personal hygiene is acceptable under Company standards.
- Cultivating cannabis for the primary goal of hash yields / hash quality.
- Prepping fresh frozen at the time of harvest in conjunction with the post-harvest team utilizing specific techniques such as hand bucking / hand trimming to achieve these goals.
- Sanitize extraction equipment and tools including workspace, production and packaging equipment, ice machine, water filters and other equipment in the lab.
- Record cleaning and maintenance logs.
- Packaging finished products into final packaging for wholesale and retail.
- Filling vape hardware carts.
- Point of contact regarding product production and creation of products.
- Assist in creation of all solventless related products including additional manufacturing items.
- Understanding of Distru / METRC.
- Ability to frequently lift and store product.
- Ability to work as a team and adapt to new processes.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent analytical skills are a must, including measuring and monitoring key performance metrics, maximizing efficiencies and customer service levels.
- Inventory, equipment maintenance, data entry, and computer skills preferred.
- Attention to detail, organizational, time management, and mathematical skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Cultivation / Botany.
- High school diploma/GED required;
Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 1-3 years' experience working in a cannabis production / cultivation setting preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age minimum.
- 1-2 years' production and/or lab experience.
- Work is primarily performed in cold room / walk in freezer and also a greenhouse setting.
- Involves frequent contact with staff, vendors, and new processing clients. Work may include dealing with law enforcement and occasional State inspectors.
- The person in this position frequently operates non-solvent extraction equipment which does partially occur in a cold environment and requires you to be on your feet for most of the shift unless packaging products, working on the computer or pressing rosin. Additionally greenhouse work will be required putting you in hot humid environments for extended periods of time during a work shift.
