The Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks is accepting applications for Beach and Parks Cashier Attendants - Miami Beach and Rocky Point Beach Summer Seasonal Employment.
Schedule: 40 hours per week - Summer Season (Memorial Day to Labor Day)
Locations: Must have reliable transportation. Facilities are not located on public transportation lines. Miami Beach is located at 4001 Bay Drive, Middle River, Maryland 21220. Rocky Point Beach is located at 2200 Rocky Point Road, Essex, Maryland 21221.
OverviewDefinition of Responsibility:
This position is responsible for performing cashier and attendant duties at assigned beach, park, or other facilities.
Job Purpose:
Under direct supervision, will perform cashier and attendant job duties at Miami Beach and Rocky Point Beach facilities.
- Collect required admission fees by using a cash register for all financial transactions.
- Verify transactions, the daily report, and deposits for the day.
- Perform proper check-in and placement of visiting groups.
- Answer phones and give accurate park and beach information.
- Sell season passes.
- Enforcement of facility rules, including checking coolers for alcohol.
- Keep facilities clean and free from hazards and litter.
- Alert patrons to changing weather and water conditions.
- Perform routine tasks as assigned. (Such as cleaning bathrooms, removing trash from barrels, cleaning grills and grounds, and minor maintenance.)
- Assist managers in dealing with customers as situations arise.
- Facilitate rentals of watersports equipment and process program registrations.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Must be at least 16 years of age by May 1, 2026
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays throughout the summer and have days off on weekdays
- Must have reliable transportation
- Facilities are not located on public transportation lines
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Prior experience in customer service is preferred
- Persons with a current American Canoe Association Paddlesports Safety Facilitator (or equivalent) will receive special consideration
- If not currently a Certified American Canoe Association Paddlesports Safety Facilitator (or equivalent), you must be able to attend training arranged by Baltimore County at the start of the season
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED will receive special consideration
- Applicants having the ability to work the entire season, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, will be considered first
Seasonal Non-Merit positions are not classified within the Baltimore County Government Classification and Compensation Plan. Seasonal positions are not included in the Employees' Benefits Plan. Applicants having the ability to work the entire season, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, will be considered first.
