Job Summary
Reed City Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to lead our Volleyball program as the Varsity Head Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of volleyball fundamentals, effective coaching strategies, and a commitment to fostering a positive, family-oriented team environment. This position requires a leader who can inspire student-athletes to excel both on and off the court while promoting teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and long-term program growth from the youth level through varsity.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to enhance player skills and team performance throughout the entire program and youth.
- Organize and conduct daily practice sessions, focusing on skill development, strategy, and teamwork.
- Plan and execute game strategies, including scouting and analyzing opponents.
- Manage all aspects of the varsity volleyball program, including scheduling games, coordinating travel, and overseeing team logistics.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and personal growth.
- Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school administration regarding team progress, expectations, and any concerns.
- Ensure compliance with all school and athletic association policies, rules, and regulations.
- Mentor and support assistant coaches and encourage their professional development.
- Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to promote improvement.
- Organize team meetings, events, and fundraising activities as needed.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, teamwork, and personal growth.
- Previous coaching experience in volleyball, preferably at the high school level.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball techniques, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes to achieve their best.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred.
- Must pass a background check and comply with all school district requirements for coaches.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the season.
