General Responsibilities
- Provide on-site coordination of USDA food distributions in partnership with Food Distribution Technicians in compliance with program regulations.
- Complete customer check-in and other customer support at food distributions.
- Direct volunteers at food distributions.
- Provide quality professional customer service at all times.
- Determine eligibility of low-income households for CSFP at distributions across 15-county region.
- Ensure food distribution sites are in compliance with all relevant program regulations and procedures.
- Complete customer check-in at public food distributions.
- Direct traffic flow as needed at public food distributions.
- Facilitate customer enrollment at private food distributions.
- Maintain procedures for each distribution site and update to comply with new regulations or best practices.
- Record accurate customer enrollment and participation data in Food Bank Manager database.
- Add or remove customers to the participant reminder call list as needed.
- Complete or collect all required program documentation with accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Ensure commodity volunteers act in compliance with program regulations, including annual Civil Rights training.
- Maintain an accurate inventory count and reconciliation using First In, First Out (FIFO) standards.
- Participate in personal and professional development activities, including staff meetings, conferences, and training opportunities as identified and approved by supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must possess a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in human services, specifically with low-income populations, preferred.
- Must have proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, & Internet)
- Must complete annual USDA Civil Rights training.
- Current Michigan Driver’s License.
- Successful clearance of DHHS Central Registry and criminal history record check.
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, valid vehicle insurance, and pass a motor vehicle check.
- Must comply with Agency smoke free and drug free policies.
- Understand the importance of daily work attendance.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
- The employee is required to stand, sit, and walk for periods of time.
- Use hands to handle and reach with hands and arms.
- Be outside in the elements of all seasons.
