Looking for a rewarding career with a company that values people, growth, sustainability, and teamwork? Join our Grayling team as a Licensed Millwright! We offer competitive pay of $40.68 per hour for DOL Licensed Journeyman Millwright.

This role will start on a 7am-3:30pm M-F schedule and will transition to a rotating shift after training, including days and nights.

What we are looking for:
  • Valid Journeyman Millwright License issued by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL)
  • 3+ years industrial mechanic experience required (including bearings, hydraulics, pumps, gearboxes)
  • Welding and Fabrication skilled
  • Ability to use a variety of mechanical troubleshooting equipment and techniques
  • Familiarity of the basic functions of a CMMS system preferred
  • Experience in reliability techniques & knowledge of lubrication principles is an asset
  • Strong, demonstrated troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to look for improvement opportunities, optimize to increase efficiencies and overall equipment uptime
  • Ability to prioritize workload independently and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to understand, develop and implement work order PM's
  • Ability to work extended hours and rotating shift as required
  • Proven ability to be a self-motivated and self-starter required

In this role, you would:
  • Respond promptly and effectively to mill breakdowns, collaborating closely with operators to resolve maintenance concerns
  • Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures (using "5 Whys") and recommend long-term solutions
  • Assist in the development of preventive maintenance (PM) tasks
  • Lead troubleshooting activities and document all maintenance issues in the logbook
  • Lead the RIP process for downtime and ensure RIP communication is sent before shift end
  • Communicate maintenance issues during maintenance meetings
  • Follow up on outstanding maintenance items from previous shifts
  • Enter work requests as needed for follow-up actions
  • Complete assigned work orders and PM/PD activities based on priority and complete work management cycle with detailed SAP confirmations.
  • Recommend improvements to troubleshooting resources (prints, manuals, job plans, tools, spare parts, etc.)
  • Remain aware of maintenance issues throughout the mill or assigned area
  • Work closely with Maintenance Planners
  • Potentially lead projects from start to finish (vendor consultation, quotes, purchase requests, job planning, installation, commissioning, print updates, PM development, training materials, etc.)
  • Support operate/maintain activities during emergency or short-staffing situations
  • Promote and support the ARAUCO Asset Reliability Process (ARP)
  • Maintain assigned lockout certifications
  • Prioritize safety for yourself and your coworkers in all tasks performed
  • Complete safety work orders promptly, based on clear priority levels
  • Lead efforts to shut down equipment or areas that present safety or significant equipment-damage risks
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to move freely throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders, and navigating around equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and crouch as necessary to inspect and maintain equipment.
  • Capability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 70 pounds
  • Ability to perform physical tasks that involve lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects.
  • Endurance to stand and walk for extended periods, often in environments with dust, chemicals, high noise levels and varying temperatures.
