We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our maintenance team working on various types of equipment associated with tree cutting services. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and performing preventative maintenance and repairs on our fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment. At times, the successful candidate will be required to deploy to our field operations and diagnose, repair or recover any unserviceable truck and/or equipment.
This role is essential for keeping our operations running efficiently and safely.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on company vehicles and heavy equipment, including chippers, saws, bucket trucks, and cranes.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and identify solutions quickly to minimize downtime.
- Conduct inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain records of maintenance and repairs performed on each piece of equipment.
- Order parts and maintain inventory of essential supplies and tools.
- Collaborate with the fleet administrator to schedule and prioritize maintenance needs.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanics or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance and repair of heavy equipment and vehicles, ideally within the tree-cutting, landscaping, or construction industries.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical systems.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL is preferred but not required.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, bending, and other physically demanding tasks.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs and procedures.
- Familiarity with OSHA and other relevant safety standards.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot issues.
- Heavy‑Duty Breaks certification through state or vocational training.
