Job SummaryThe Millwright Apprentice will work directly with an experienced Millwright, assisting with a variety of job duties including general labor tasks, welding, and moving and repairing machinery to minimize down time and maximize productivity. This role requires someone with a willingness to learn, take direction, and must be willing to travel often.
Essential Job Functions- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Perform basic welding tasks, including cutting, fitting, and fabricating metal components.
- Support the team with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues on-site.
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and in good working order.
- Adhere to workplace safety and regulatory standards at all times.
- Participate in training sessions to develop skills and knowledge in millwright and welding practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Enrollment or completion in a certified welding training program or minimum of 1 year experience of welding.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems, blueprints, and schematics.
- Ability to work in diverse environments, including confined spaces and heights.
- Knowledge of OSHA Standards and workplace safety.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
- Valid chauffeur's license and medical examiner's certificate.
