Decking Specialist

C&L Ward, Michigan’s leading exterior home improvement company, is seeking experienced, motivated sales professionals to join our In-home sales team. This opportunity is ideal for experienced window and door sales professionals or composite decking sales professionals looking to expand their earning potential within a proven sales system.

You will work exclusively with pre-qualified homeowners who have requested information about our products –no cold calling required. With industry-leading training, proven sales systems, and strong operational support, C&L Ward provides the tools needed to build a rewarding, long-term sales career.

As an In-Home Consultant, you will represent either our window and door division or our composite decking division, delivering professional in-home consultations, product training, and project pricing to clients.

Each role focuses on a single product category, allowing you to specialize, build expertise, and deliver an exceptional client experience.

• Conduct in-home consultations with homeowners and decision-makers
• Deliver interactive, consultative sales presentations for a specific product line
• Educate customers on product features, options, and design considerations
• Take accurate measurements to ensure proper project scope and pricing
• Prepare and present professional proposals
• Maintain consistent follow-up with prospective clients
• Partner with internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from sale to production
• Participate in ongoing sales training, coaching, and team development

• Prior experience in window and door sales or composite decking sales
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Confident, professional in-home presence
• Self-motivated with strong time-management skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
• Naturally outgoing and comfortable building rapport with homeowners
• Deck sales and/or deck construction experienced required for decking consultants
• Must be coachable and open to ongoing training
• Valid driver's license required

Earning potential

• First year consultants earn $80k - $120k with increased pay potential as more experience is gained
• Uncapped commission with performance-based bonuses
