Overview
General Description:
In this position, your primary responsibility will be to support existing and develop new customers in implementing igus products into various types of automotive applications in the Mid-West region of the United States. We are looking for someone with high technical and mechanical aptitude and an interest in technology who enjoys building strong customer relationships, preparing and delivering technical presentations, and speaking with customers and engineers to assess needs and determine requirements.
The new hire will collaborate with sales and engineering teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support. This role suits someone with a technical education paired with extensive sales experience, ideally in the automotive supplier industry. This position is in a highly collaborative environment and requires a hands-on personality and superior communication skills.
- Prospecting new projects and customers in the automotive sector
- Organize and conduct technical presentations at customer locations to explain how products work and win new business
- Provide customers with technically improved solutions at the lowest cost
- Provide continuous support to engineers to find new projects and support ongoing projects
- Work closely with customers and engineers to ensure solutions meet system requirements
- Research and stay on top of latest market trends
- Communicate with the sales team and provide sales support to customers
- Submit quotes and lead the decision-making process
- Recommend new and improved products to customers and explain benefits
- Organize and conduct visits to prospects and customers on a frequent basis to secure sales
- Coordinate all automotive-related documentation and ensure timely communication between the customer and the Automotive Team in Rhode Island
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred)
- Proven experience in sales within the automotive industry
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
