Our first stores opened in April 2002 and we now operate 71 retail locations across Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Maryland and Pennsylvania. We supply a wide Novitadsof products in departments such as tools, hardware, automotive, pet, work and casual clothing, footwear, farm supplies, horse and livestock feed, bird food, lawn and garden, and alternative heating.

Store Manager Responsibilities
  • A. Promote the Family Farm and Home mission statement and family values.
  • B. Promote an aggressive sales culture with an intense focus on superior customer service.
  • C. Maintain a highly motivated team by hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplining and firing team members; planning, monitoring and evaluating job results.
  • D. Maintain professionalism and positive store morale.
  • E. Ensure execution and performance of all store job responsibilities through key associates or own actions.
  • F. Complete store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning team members; following up on work results.
  • G. Provide feedback to the office, i.e., buyers, district managers and all other company officials.
  • H. Assume full profit and loss accountability for the individual store location.
  • I. Achieve financial objectives by assisting in the preparation of an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • J. Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers.
  • K. Establish and support relationships with local community groups consistent with company values.
  • L. Ensure availability of merchandise and services by approving contracts; maintaining inventories.
  • M. Protect all inventory and company assets in accordance with company policy against theft and damage.
  • N. Verify merchandise is received, stored and merchandised in all departments according to established operational and safety procedures.
  • O.ನProtect employees and customers and maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements and providing a safe and clean environment.
  • P. Help determine marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and departmental sales records.
  • Q. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
  • R. Maintain consistent operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing operational and personnel policies and procedures.
  • S. Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisors or company officials.
Store Manager Requirements
  • Excellent leadership and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage with limited supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for effectively interacting with customers, vendors and associates.
  • Comfortable with hiring and firing team members; team‑oriented mindset.
  • Strong management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret data presented in statistical or numerical form and use it effectively in assessing and coordinating merchandise and operational aspects.
  • Detail‑oriented and capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods, move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures, climb ladders, reach, bend, twist, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
