Organization: Moran Iron Works, Inc.
Location: Onaway, Michigan
Reports To: Quality Manager
Employment Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

The Quality & Safety Administrative Specialist supports and maintains Moran Iron Works’ Quality Management System (QMS) and Safety Programs to ensure regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, and a safe work environment. This role assists with inspections, documentation, training coordination, and reporting to uphold company quality standards and workplace safety requirements.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality and safety records.
- Monitor and document compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and NCCCO regulations.
- Schedule and document safety meetings, training sessions, audits, and inspections.
- Assist with calibration of inspection tools and maintain documentation.
- Investigate and document accidents, near misses, and safety concerns.
- Maintain and update Quality Management System manuals, forms, and postings.
- Support Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Participate in employee training and new hire orientation.
- Ensure proper hazardous waste disposal.
- Maintain first aid supplies and safety postings.
- Prepare reports using Microsoft Office.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2–5 years of experience in quality assurance, safety, or an industrial environment preferred.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring tools preferred.
Skills And Abilities
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control processes preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
