Seasonal Biological Science Technician; Water

Duties

Implement aquatic invasive species management projects, including monitoring tasks and a citizen science volunteer program. Train, schedule, and lead volunteers for monitoring and control of invasive species.

• Organizes, schedules, and executes aquatic invasive species management projects.
• Identifies and enumerates various invasive species.
• Plans field projects and selects sampling techniques.
• Collects and organizes field data with quality control.
• Installs, operates, and maintains resource management equipment.
• Uses ArcGIS and other computer programs to compile, analyze, and report data.

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Background investigation and favorable adjudication.
• Male applicants must meet Selective Service Registration Act.
• Direct Deposit participation required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Uniform required per NPS standards.
• Minimum age 18 (or 16 with high‑school completion).

Minimum qualifications must be met by the closing date.

• Experience:
  
  At least one full year of specialized experience comparable to GS‑06, e.g., leading field work, volunteer monitoring program, wetland restoration, macroinvertebrate inventory, or assisting a specialist in field projects.
• Education:
  
  Successful completion of one full year of graduate‑level study in a related field, with transcripts.
• Combination:
  Graduate education and experience as described above.
