Location: Empire
Duties
Implement aquatic invasive species management projects, including monitoring tasks and a citizen science volunteer program. Train, schedule, and lead volunteers for monitoring and control of invasive species.
- Organizes, schedules, and executes aquatic invasive species management projects.
- Identifies and enumerates various invasive species.
- Plans field projects and selects sampling techniques.
- Collects and organizes field data with quality control.
- Installs, operates, and maintains resource management equipment.
- Uses ArcGIS and other computer programs to compile, analyze, and report data.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- Male applicants must meet Selective Service Registration Act.
- Direct Deposit participation required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Uniform required per NPS standards.
- Minimum age 18 (or 16 with high‑school completion).
Minimum qualifications must be met by the closing date.
- Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable to GS‑06, e.g., leading field work, volunteer monitoring program, wetland restoration, macroinvertebrate inventory, or assisting a specialist in field projects. - Education:
Successful completion of one full year of graduate‑level study in a related field, with transcripts. - Combination:
Graduate education and experience as described above.
Government housing may be available.
