The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) functions as a collaborative member of the health care team in partnership with and under supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN)/provider utilizing principles of Relationship-Based Care through the effective implementation of specific aspects of the nursing process, performs direct patient care to a specific group of patients, and coordinates activities which relate to the flow of unit processes.
The LPN acts within the scope of practice congruent with their education and licensure. Care includes the administration of medications as authorized. Demonstrates unit/area competencies.
The Inpatient Rehab units at Chelsea Hospital care for patients requiring comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation after traumatic brain injuries, cerebral vascular accidents, amputations, debility, poly trauma or spinal cord injuries. Inpatient Rehab is a collaborative program between Chelsea Hospital and University of Michigan Health, staffed by a team of award-winning U-M Health rehab physicians and Chelsea Hospital nurses, therapists, and specialists.
Our Inpatient Rehabilitation unit has recently expanded to a 40-bed unit and is now accepting higher acuity patients. As part of our commitment to excellence in patient care, we are proud to be participating in the Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Model System.
Shift Available: 11am-7:30pm
Status Available:
Part time, benefit eligible (48 hours per pay period – every two weeks)
Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
- Education:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and possession of a certificate from a practical nursing education program accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing - Certification/Licensure:
Requires current and active license to practice as LPN in State of Michigan. Basic Life Support Certification (BLS). - Experience with wound care preferred
