What You'll Do

As a Nurse Assistant, under nurse supervision, you'll assist patients performing daily tasks. You will keep the nurse up to date on patient's vital information and assist with maintenance as needed.

Job Responsibilities

* Records intake/output, vital signs, weights, and blood sugar.

* Collects and delivers specimens and blood products.

* Retrieves necessary patient care items.

* Provides accurate shift reports.

* Communicates patient needs and changes promptly.

* Responds to patients, families, and emergencies with compassion.

* Maintains professional communication within scope of practice.

* Maintains inventory and cleanliness.

* Restocks supplies and performs QA checks.

* Keeps patient areas organized and safe.

* Completes assigned duties and projects as needed.

What You Bring

You bring familiarity with basic hospital equipment and policies and procedures. You have the ability to perform blood pressure and other vital signs correctly. You bring knowledge of and correct utilization of good body mechanics.

Required Qualifications

* Successful completion of a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

* Must be a minimum of 17 years of age.

* Previous patient care experience preferred.

* A Nurse Assistant certification is preferred.

* Must obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/CPR) within 3 months of hire and maintain certification.

Physical Demands

Frequent lifting, bending, stooping, walking or standing. Work may require an awkward position to be assumed for short periods of time in lifting or handling heavy patients.
