Patient Care Delivery:
Under the direction/supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • Adheres to the nursing plan of care.
  • Implements strategies to provide for patient and family participation in health, promotion, maintenance, and restoration. Utilizes critical thinking skills and employs the use of the teach-back method. Keeps patients/families informed and answers call lights promptly.
  • Initiate nursing actions to assist the patient to maximize his/her health capabilities.
  • Provide nursing care without discrimination on the basis of diagnosis, age, sex, race, creed, or color.
  • Administers medications, monitors IV and blood transfusions, monitors vital signs and performs routine treatments and procedures.
  • Maintains patients records and charts, recording pertinent information, medications, treatments administered, treatment response and initiating patient incident reports as needed
  • Reinforces patient teaching and discharge instructions.
Resource Driven Practice
  • Seeks education resources and create learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills for his/her continuing competence in nursing practice and individual growth. Including continuing education, council and committee participation, and process improvement activities.
  • Seek education and supervision as necessary when implementing nursing practice techniques.
  • Demonstrates prompt shift arrival and meets all attendance standards.
