The role of the ambulatory care registered nurse (ARN) is a complex, multifaceted specialty that encompasses independent and collaborative practice. The comprehensive practice is built upon a broad knowledge base of nursing and health sciences, and applies clinical expertise rooted in the nursing process. RNs use evidence-based information across a variety of outpatient health care settings to achieve and ensure patient safety and quality of care while improving patient outcomes (AACN, 2017)

Full time

1st Shift 8 am - 5 pm, Monday – Friday, no weekends, or holidays

A variety of shared responsibilities in a busy practice. Utilizes nursing assessment skills and clinical protocol guidelines in a decision‑making capacity to provide timely and efficient patient care.

• Telephone triage
• Medication Refill
• New consult evaluation
• Patient education
• Performs clerical functions, all functions of a Medical Assistant, and environmental duties to support team objectives

• Graduation from an accredited Nursing school and program
• Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred
• In Grand Rapids, if ADN must enroll in BSN program within 6 months of hire and complete in 4 years of hire
• Licensed in the State of Michigan
• 1 year of experience as an RN required; if new grad must apply to RN residency that takes place three times a year in February, July and October
• Specialty credentialing preferred according to clinical nursing practice specialty area
