The role of the ambulatory care registered nurse (ARN) is a complex, multifaceted specialty that encompasses independent and collaborative practice. The comprehensive practice is built upon a broad knowledge base of nursing and health sciences, and applies clinical expertise rooted in the nursing process. RNs use evidence-based information across a variety of outpatient health care settings to achieve and ensure patient safety and quality of care while improving patient outcomes (AACN, 2017)

A variety of shared responsibilities in a busy practice. Utilizes nursing assessment skills and clinical protocol guidelines in a decision‑making capacity to provide timely and efficient patient care.
What you will do- Telephone triage
- Medication Refill
- New consult evaluation
- Patient education
- Performs clerical functions, all functions of a Medical Assistant, and environmental duties to support team objectives
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing school and program
- Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred
- In Grand Rapids, if ADN must enroll in BSN program within 6 months of hire and complete in 4 years of hire
- Licensed in the State of Michigan
- 1 year of experience as an RN required; if new grad must apply to RN residency that takes place three times a year in February, July and October
- Specialty credentialing preferred according to clinical nursing practice specialty area
