Tube Laser Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Tube Laser Operator to set up, operate, and monitor our Tube Laser cutting machine. The ideal candidate will ensure that quality parts are produced according to production orders and engineering specifications. This role also involves performing necessary quality checks, recording information, and performing general utility work to meet the work schedule.

• Understand machine set-up, including program retrieval, proper gases, appropriate nozzles, and materials.
• Execute safe start-up and shutdown procedures for laser machines.
• Diagnose machining issues while performing jobs and make modifications as needed.
• Utilize measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and hand tools.
• Perform laser cutting operations efficiently and effectively according to specifications.
• Conduct quality checks on machined products and notify the supervisor of any process issues.
• Operate and navigate in a Windows-based computer environment.
• Program nesting software to maximize product and material usage.
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Perform operator maintenance and/or housekeeping as per established schedules.
• Complete other duties as assigned, including operating additional machines, sorting, reworking, de‑nesting, assembly, welding, or processing other parts as a collaborative member of the manufacturing team.

• Dependable and reliable.
• 1-3 years of CNC experience in a production manufacturing environment.
• Strong math skills with the ability to analyze information using measuring equipment.
• Good attendance and punctuality.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently.
• Ability to work with close tolerances.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow instructions and written processes.
• Previous courses in CNC laser setup and operation are a plus.
