North American Moulding, a Patrick Industries company, is a growing and looking to add a hands-on Engineering Technician for a large-scale project. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic, problem-solving environment and is eager to roll up their sleeves and tackle both electrical and technical challenges. The ideal candidate will have practical experience with troubleshooting and supporting PLC systems, robots and electrical components, and will be instrumental in running our new production line.
Responsibilities- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and support for electrical and technical issues
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC systems, robots, and other key production equipment
- Read and interpret electrical schematics to identify and resolve issues
- Use critical thinking and practical problem-solving skills to optimize production processes
- Collaborate with the team to ensure all equipment operates efficiently and to resolve technical challenges as they arise
- Actively participate in setting up and scaling the new production line, ensuring everything runs smoothly
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime and enhance production efficiency
- Provide training to team members on proper operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment
- Conduct root cause analysis on recurring technical issues and propose long-term solutions to prevent future occurrences
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance and troubleshooting activities
- Keep detailed records of maintenance work, repairs, and equipment performance to inform future improvements and troubleshooting
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field will be considered a plus;
Technical Certifications strongly preferred - 3+ years previous experience working with production lines or similar industrial settings is a plus but not required
- Practical, hands-on experience with PLCs, robots, and basic programming
- Basic understanding of electrical schematics and ability to troubleshoot electrical systems
- A strong hands-on mentality – someone who isn’t afraid to dive into technical work and take action when issues arise
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Strong tact and diplomacy; ability to work effectively with staff on all levels
- A high level of personal integrity (self-esteem, confidence, honesty, and respect) are necessary qualities
- Strong written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization
