Overview
Timber Products Michigan, located in Munising, MI, has an opening for an Electronics Technician.
Responsibilities- Installation, set up, testing, and adjustment of manufacturing machinery or equipment using electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or computer technologies.
- Maintaining, installing, and/or changing software programs and PLC ladder logic throughout the mills.
- Act as a catalyst in identifying areas where automation can improve the production process and offering ideas/specification for implementation.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of defective equipment using drawings, schematics, diagrams, and other information.
- Investigate equipment problems to determine root cause of system failures and provide appropriate corrective action.
Ideal candidate:
- 3-year associate’s degree in Electronics or similar, or 3 years’ experience and/or training in electronics or computer technology, or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
- Proficient in GE or Allen Bradley PLC ladder logic and able to perform electrical work as assigned to any classified electrician onsite with intent of having an electrician present whenever possible for training.
- Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment where priorities can quickly change.
- Strong attention to detail, teamwork skills, excellent problem-solving, strong oral and written communication, highly motivated, and ability to work autonomously.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) desirable.
